My baby gets a new top!

The S2000's convertible top isn't perfect. Lately, I noticed that the top was starting to tear on right side at the bend. So one day, I randomly went to Glendale Colonial Honda because I had some time to spare. I originally wanted to see how much it cost to get a new key cut but I also mentioned my top tear thinking I they would refer me to an upholstery shop. Raymond was the guy that help me. He pulls more my information and discovers that I still have a warranty for another month! I then realized December 15 2005 is my car's birthday, so it's almost been 36 months! Raymond said the top will be covered by my warranty. It didn't hit me for another 5 minutes, "it's no charge?!?!" I explanated.

Since I was at the dealer, I wanted to walk around the showroom. I was approached by a salesman and he asked me what I was here for. I told him I was doing some warranty work before it was up. He told me that I should extent my warranty. I said how much? Then he directed me to the warranty guy to give me a quote. As I was talking to the warranty guy, he quoted and I asked what was specifically cover. I mentioned a scenario with a ripped top and he said it was completely not cover; he compared it to tires!

I was like "RED LIGHT" I gotta get outta here!!!!! Inconclusion, I manged to change the topic and leave quickly. I came back the next day and got the top replaced for FREEEEEEE!!!!

K&N Intake installed!

Ths installation:
Such a weird design, somewhat easy to install. My favorite part of the intake is the carbon-fiber on the filter, so cool.

installed at 30,400 miles

The performance:
When you floor it in any gear, it makes a deep "waahhhhhhhhh" noise. When you do a drag strip start, it's incredibly loud. Herb says it sounds like a Ferrari. I definitely know I'll be flooring it more, therefore my mpg will go down :(. Overall, the throttle response has greatly improved to compensate for the ap2's drive-by-wire.

this is actually not my car. haha. pics for clicks

Imperfections to not so imperfections!

My baby got a nice detail wash, clay and wax. Derrick brought this professional bubble gum car wash that his dad stole from his work. It was hella neon PinK! It smelled good enough to eat.

Dan bought this new Turtle Wax - Ice Liquid Clay Bar that i used on the panels that didn't have the new paint. It was really easy to use. It wasn't as abrasive as I thought it was going to be. You can tell it was working because after rinsing the car, it left a even layer of water on the paint creating a nice pallet for wax!

Next I used NXT Generation Tech Wax® that Dan bought. It was alright, getting that close to your car's paint, you really notice all the imperfections! After buffing out the wax, it seem some paints of the hood was nice and smooth and some parts course, pretty usually. Regardless the car is lustfully shiny!

Out of the Hospital!

Finally released! 6/14/2008

Ruby looks as health as new born. She got like half herself repainted: rear bumper, right quarter panel, right door, right fender, lips and wing.

All credit to Dr. Steve Lu Tran of T&L Autobody. It only took 4 long weeks.

and of course she'll have to go back for some check ups. Install the wing and reinstall the S2000 badges on the right fender!
